The new IDE by JetBrains is now available for free for public testing
Fleet, the “Next-generation IDE” developed by JetBrains, is now available for everyone. During the public preview phase, the product is totally free and can be installed from the JetBrains website.
Both Lightweight and Powerful
Fleet is a lightweight texteditor by default, but with the help of code engines from other IntelliJ-based IDEs it can be turned into a full-blown IDE.
The Future of Fleet
Over the next months, the JetBrains Team will be working on stabalizing Fleet and listening to feedback. However, there are also new features planned:
- API support / SDK for plugins
- Performance improvements
- Themes and custom keymaps
- Vim Emulation
Get started with Fleet
As of now, Fleet is totally free! JetBrains Toolbox App is required for launching Fleet.
